This Victorian house was built by John S. Potts and was known for several years as The Potts House. His wife Laura ran the Potts’ boarding house and restaurant. The restaurant became so popular that the kitchen was enlarged to accommodate the restaurant trade. Then a Family Home… The house was lovingly preserved for 85 years by descendents of Lovinsky Reagin. The Reagins came to Forney from Giles County, Tennessee in 1878 and became vital members of the community. Several generations of the Reagin Family have lived at 315 S. Bois d’ Arc beginning in 1916. Florence Williams Reagin lived in the house from 1936 until she passed away in 2002. Mrs. Reagin’s desire was that the house be restored and opened for all to enjoy. Read more about the Reagin family’s role in shaping early 20th century Forney at Forney Historic Preservation League’s website. Today, a Historic and Festive Venue … Today, the Reagin House serves many a festive occasion, from weddings to group gatherings. Its sturdiness and ample rooms accomodate up to 75 guests with ease. We are proud to offer this fine historic Victorian home to grace your event. Call our event coordinator at 214-926-2485 to book your event. |
